Marketer | Designer | Communicator
After earning degrees in both Graphic Design and Marketing, I chose to spend the first half of my career crafting my role as a graphic designer specializing in print media and direct marketing design. I started my design journey as a production assistant and quickly moved through the ranks to become the senior product designer for one of the leading non-profit marketing agencies on the west coast. After finding myself spending more time discussing campaign strategy with stakeholders rather than the artwork, I made my move from design to marketing strategy and digital advertising.
After my time in design, I stepped firmly into the world of marketing direction with California State University San Marcos. Over a five year journey, I worked to bring CSUSM’s marketing efforts in the 21st century. What I am most proud of is the team of agile thinkers and creators we built to develop the most effective and forward-thinking targeted campaigns and marketing efforts in higher education. This team’s actions would lead to record numbers of enrollments and engagement for the university.
After my meaningful seasons in marketing and design, I looked to public relations and communication as the next step in my journey and a new set of skills ready to be harnessed and developed. With that goal, I accepted the position of Press Officer and Communications Director for the Fallbrook Union School District. This new journey has been equally exciting and challenging as I learn the tactics and strategies needed to develop a culture of engagement and trust between organizations and the community. This new journey has been especially rewarding as I maneuver our organization through the unsteady waters of COVID-19.
My unique experience as a designer, marketer, and communicator allows me to work closely with creative teams, stakeholders and the community to create strategies that exceed in both form and function.
